Fr. Luke (Anthony) Edelen was born 29 December 1950, He attended St. Benedict's Preparatory School, where he participated in the Drama Guild. After receiving a B.A. from Fordham University, he entered the Benedictine Abbey of Newark, pronounced simple vows on 29 September 1973, and was ordained a priest on 7 June 1980. He served as pastor of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church (Newark, N.J.) from 1982 to 1992.

Don Newbery graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Elizabeth, N.J., in 1948. He then spent a post-graduate year at St. Benedict's. He later became a sportscaster.
